The experience

Hassan II Mosque dominates the opening. Built in 1986 on the Atlantic coast, it's the largest mosque in Morocco and Africa, its minaret rising 210 meters: the highest in the world. You enter with your guide (private groups are not permitted by mosque policy, so you'll join a small group of other travelers). The Moorish architecture and scale are the draw. The 3:00 PM cutoff means morning or early-afternoon departures matter if interior access is your priority.

From there, the route moves into the Old Medina: the historic heart where narrow alleys open onto souks stacked with Moroccan crafts, textiles and local goods. Your guide walks you through, stopping at squares and landmarks that mark different eras: the Habouss Quarter, built during the French colonial period in the 1930s; the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart; Rick's Café, the cinema-famous spot from Casablanca; and the main public squares where locals gather. You move at the pace the guide sets, but there's time to browse the vendors, ask questions in Moroccan dialect if you want, and photograph the street life.

Transport is in an air-conditioned vehicle with WiFi and phone charging. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so the logistics of getting to the starting point and back are handled.
