The experience

You start in Casablanca's Central Market, built in the 1920s on Mohammed V Street, then move through Mohammed V Square to see its Moorish and Art Deco buildings. The route takes you to the Habous Quarter, a neighborhood the French built in the 1920s for Moroccan merchant families, where you can walk the souks and stop at Bennis, the city's most famous bakery. Along the way you taste Moroccan food either in restaurants or as street food the way locals eat it, learning about the history and culture at each stop.

La Corniche, the long promenade along the Atlantic, is where you slow down. You walk past cafés and beach clubs, order mint tea or freshly squeezed orange juice, and watch local life unfold. Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, built in 1956 for Casablanca's Christian community, shows the stained glass and spare design that define it.

Hassan II Mosque is the centerpiece. It's the largest mosque in Africa and the third largest in the world, built entirely in Moroccan architectural style. Unlike mosques elsewhere, non-Muslims can enter the interior: a rare access point. You skip the line at the door. The 120 MAD admission fee is separate. If you prefer to see it from outside, that option stands too. The air-conditioned vehicle moves you between all stops, and your guide handles the route and the stories behind each place.

Can I actually go inside Hassan II Mosque as a non-Muslim visitor?

Hassan II Mosque is the only mosque in Morocco that welcomes non-Muslim visitors to enter the interior. You pay a separate 120 MAD fee for admission, but the tour includes skip-the-line access so you don't wait at the entrance.

What is the Habous Quarter and why is it worth visiting?

The Habous Quarter is a neighborhood built by the French in the 1920s for Moroccan merchant families. It has two mosques, multiple souks, and Bennis, the city's most famous bakery, making it a place where you see how locals actually shop and eat.

Will I taste real Moroccan food, or is it just restaurant meals?

You taste Moroccan food both ways (in restaurants and as street food the way locals eat it), so you get a real sense of how people in Casablanca actually eat, not just a tourist version.

How much time do I spend walking versus sitting in the vehicle?

The tour runs three to four hours total, mixing walking through neighborhoods and markets with time in the air-conditioned vehicle between stops. La Corniche is a longer promenade walk where you can sit at a café if you want.
