At Imlil, you meet your local guide at the centre and sit on a roof terrace with mint tea, looking out over the Atlas peaks and the villages below. The guide briefs you on the day ahead—the walk, the altitude, what to expect—and then you start climbing.

The trek takes you up through wawfraft Forest toward the highest village in the valley, which sits above 1800m. You pass through a quick break at the pass, then continue climbing to Mizane Valley above 2000m. Your guide points out the valley names, explains how Berber families have lived here for centuries, and talks about the Atlas history and landscape as you walk. The views open up across multiple valleys and peaks. After this high point, you walk down a different route to reach waterfalls, then stop for lunch in a Berber village—you eat with a local family, and lunch is paid directly to them.
