The Experience
The morning air felt cool as we left the city behind, bouncing along in an air-conditioned van. Our driver chatted about the day’s route, pointing out small roadside stalls selling oranges—apparently, they’re sweetest after the first rains. Once we reached LMZAR village, the quads were lined up and ready. The guide handed out helmets and goggles (trust me, you’ll want those—there’s dust everywhere) and gave us a quick rundown on handling the bikes. Nothing too technical, just enough to feel safe before hitting the trails.
Kicking up sand along winding tracks, we zipped past argan trees and low stone houses where kids waved as we passed. The scent of wild thyme drifted in patches—sometimes you’d catch it for a second, then it was gone. We stopped at a Berber home for mint tea served in little glasses; it was sweet and hot, perfect after the ride. The host smiled shyly but made sure everyone had seconds.
