The experience

Kotor's Old Town sits on the Bay of Kotor, ringed by Venetian-era walls and packed with narrow streets, churches and noble family palaces built during centuries of maritime trade. The walking tour starts at the main gate and moves through the town's largest square, past the Clock Tower (where the guide explains the Pillar of Shame nearby), through St. Luke Square with its two Orthodox churches, and past the exterior of St. Tryphon Cathedral. You'll hear the stories of local families and the North gates before finishing at the West gates: roughly 90 minutes on foot through the medieval center.

After the Old Town, you transfer to the cable car for a 20-minute ride up 3,900 meters to National Park Lovcen. At the top, 1,300 meters above sea level, you have free time to take in the views and walk around the cable car station. The Mausoleum sits another 360 meters higher at 1,660 meters. Visiting it is optional and arranged with your guide. The ride back down follows the same route, returning you to the pre-arranged pickup point.
