The Experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel and transport to Xcaret, where a guide meets you and walks you through the park's layout. The 10-hour visit is structured around four main experiences: the underground rivers that cut through limestone caverns, the Mayan archaeological sites scattered across the grounds, the live performances of Mexican music and dance that run throughout the afternoon, and the wildlife habitats where you can watch jaguars, monkeys, and turtles without barriers between you and them. Lunch is included and served at the park.

Swimming in the underground rivers is the centerpiece. These are not pools but actual subterranean waterways that flow through the park—you wade and swim through them, moving deeper into the caverns as the guide explains the geology and the role these rivers played in Mayan life.
