The Experience
The day starts with pickup from Valladolid and a ride in the only vintage truck in the Yucatan Peninsula—the vehicle itself is part of the experience. Your guide meets you at the start and stays with the group through all three cenotes, explaining what you're about to enter and handling the timing so the day holds together without anyone building it.
Nool Ha opens first: a hidden cenote with pristine water and a peaceful setting where you can swim and float. Suytun Cenote comes next—a young, circular cenote closed by a vault with an opening at the surface that lets sunlight pour in. You descend through a tunnel with stairs and find yourself surrounded by stalagmites and stalactites in large quantities, the light hitting the formations and the water below. Chukum is the third stop, a cenote forty meters in diameter ringed by chukum trees that give it its name. All three are accessible for swimming; life vests and lockers are provided at each one.
Lunch is included and served during the tour. You get bottled water throughout the day, hammock lounge areas to rest between swims, and private transport back to Valladolid when the seven hours are done. The guide speaks English or Spanish and can answer questions about the cenotes and the landscape as you move between them.
