The experience
The driver picks you up at your hotel or accommodation in Tulum at whatever time suits your schedule, loads your luggage, and takes you directly to Cancún. The vehicle matches your group size: a sedan for one to three passengers, an MPV for four, or a van for five to seven, each with air conditioning and room for suitcases plus carry-on bags. Bottled water is included, and if you're traveling with children, the operator can arrange specialized infant seats.
If you want to break up the drive, you can stop at any combination of attractions along the way: Xcaret and Xel-Há parks, Cenote Cristalino, Tulum's archaeological zone, Cobá, or smaller sites like Aktun Chen and the cenote parks. You choose which stops, how many, and how long to spend at each one, so a two-hour transfer can stretch to a full day of exploration if that's what you want. The driver will drop you at your chosen destination in Cancún whenever you're ready.
This works best if you're flexible about timing and want to see something beyond the highway. The sightseeing stops are optional. If you just need to get from Tulum to Cancún, that's the default. Entry fees to parks and archaeological sites are separate. You pay them on arrival if you choose to visit.

Top questions
Can I stop at Tulum's archaeological zone on the way to Cancún?
Yes. Tulum's archaeological zone is one of the optional stops you can add to your transfer. The operator recommends about two hours there. You choose whether to include it and how long to spend, and entry is separate from the transfer price.
What's the difference between Xcaret and Xel-Há if I want to add one stop?
Both are major Mayan parks along the route. Xcaret focuses on cultural attractions, cenotes and underground rivers, with a recommended time of six hours. Xel-Há is a natural lagoon park with snorkeling and beach access, also recommended for about six hours. You can visit one or split your sightseeing time between both.
How long does the drive take without any sightseeing stops?
The transfer from Tulum to Cancún takes around two hours if you travel straight through without stops. Adding sightseeing can extend the journey to a full day depending on which sites you choose and how long you spend at each.
Do I need to arrange my own lunch if I add sightseeing stops?
A lunch break is possible during your sightseeing time, and your driver can help you find a place to eat. Meals are not included in the transfer, so you'll pay for food separately.
