The Experience

The lesson starts on the beach with kite and wind theory, then moves into the mechanics: setting up the kite and lines, understanding the bar and safety systems, and practicing self-rescue technique. Once you have kite control down, you move to the water for body drag upwind and power strokes—the foundation for staying in control. Your instructor, IKO certified and part of Mauricio's team, watches your form and adjusts the pace to match what you're ready for.

Water work comes next: waterstart with assistance, then solo, followed by riding downwind and upwind. The final steps cover transitions—the move that connects one direction to another. All twelve steps fit inside the three hours because the progression is built to move you forward without wasting time on setup or gear problems. The equipment is renewed every year, and you'll wear a Bluetooth radio helmet so your instructor can talk you through each phase without shouting over the wind.

The lesson ends with access to showers, bathrooms and Wi-Fi. You'll need at least a moderate level of fitness, and the lesson runs only in favorable wind and water conditions—if weather cancels it, you get an alternative date or full refund.
