The Mermaid for a Day Adventure is a three-hour class in Tulum where you transform into a mermaid with a custom name, monofin training, tailskin costume and full accessories. You learn the mermaid motion, practice with floats, and spend the afternoon swimming and playing in the pool. Private transportation from your pickup point is included, and a live guide leads the experience in English or Spanish.

The experience

The day starts with pickup at 10am in an air-conditioned vehicle that takes you to the mermaid playground. On the way, you get your mermaid name and learn the Tulum Mermaid Code: the rules that guide your transformation. Once you arrive, a short warm-up sets the intention for what comes next, and you learn the mermaid motion, the foundation of how mermaids move through water.

The core of the class is a lesson with the monofin, the single fin that replaces your legs and is the key to moving like an elegant mermaid. After the instruction, you rest and have snacks before the final transformation: mermaid scales matched to your tail, a tailskin, a coordinating top, and accessories that complete the look. Then you're free to frolick, play games, or simply float around in the water: swimming with two feet genuinely does feel different after this.

The experience is built for children from age 6 and up, and infants can come along in a pram or stroller. You'll have floats, a swim mask, and pool noodles available to use. The guide speaks English or Spanish, and the whole group returns to your original pickup point at the end of the three hours.
