The Experience
Stepping out of the arrivals hall at SJD, I felt that first wave of Baja warmth hit my face—kind of a mix of sun and salty air. Our driver was already waiting with a little sign (my name spelled right, which honestly surprised me). He gave a quick nod and helped with the bags, then led us to a spotless black SUV parked just outside. The AC was already running, which felt like heaven after the sticky airport line.
Inside, cold bottled water was waiting for us—small detail, but after a flight it’s exactly what you want. We slid into soft leather seats and took off toward our hotel in Cabo San Lucas. The drive itself is pretty smooth; you’ll see flashes of desert hills on one side and the Pacific peeking out on the other. Our driver pointed out a couple of local spots as we passed—like where to get fresh tamales if you’re hungry later. No stops unless you ask for them; it’s straight to your door, no fuss.
