The experience
The hike starts with a 10 km walk along a river with crystal clear water and turquoise hues, crossing stretches of water and stones as the terrain stays flat throughout. You walk until the pools deepen enough to swim, dive or simply sit and take in the canyon. A qualified guide leads the route, and hiking poles are provided to help with the water crossings.
Six hours covers the full expedition. Snacks are included along the way, and accident insurance comes with every booking. Pickup is arranged for you, so you only need to show up ready to walk. The canyon is popular for nature photography (the water color and rock formations make for strong shots), but the main draw is the swim itself at the end of a flat, manageable walk.
