Via Ferrata Ruta Vértigo: Rock Climbing & Ziplining Monterrey
Climb 600 meters, cross swaying bridges, and fly down a 400-meter zipline in one day.
Via Ferrata Ruta Vértigo is a guided rock climbing and zipline adventure in La Huasteca near Monterrey where you scale vertical cliffs, cross hanging suspension bridges, and descend by rappel and zipline. The experience runs 8 hours with certified guides in English, Spanish or Portuguese, hotel pickup included, and all safety equipment, insurance and a photo shoot delivered after. Children from age 15 can join; the activity is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or cardiovascular concerns.
The Experience
La Huasteca's Via Ferrata Ruta Vértigo starts with a scenic hike that steepens into a 600-meter rock climb toward Cumbre Independencia. You're roped in with certified guides who manage the safety line and shock absorber as you move upward, crossing hanging bridges and climbing a floating ladder along the way. The ascent itself is the point—each section builds on the last, and the altitude keeps climbing.
From the summit, the descent splits into three parts. First comes a 400-meter zipline that launches you out over the canyon. Then two rappels bring you down the remaining face. The whole sequence—climb, cross, soar, rappel—takes the full 8 hours, and the guides handle the technical setup so you focus on the movement. Hotel pickup from Monterrey is included, and the operator delivers photos from the day via a link afterward.
Certified guides speak English, Spanish or Portuguese and carry a first aid kit on site. You wear a canyoning harness and helmet throughout, and accident insurance is built into the price. The operator handles location scouting and permits, so the logistics are already arranged. This is a shared group experience, not a private one, and it demands a high level of physical fitness—the climb and the altitude are real.
