Underwater Sea Walk Grand Baie: Walk the reef, no swimming needed
A brief time on the ocean floor in a helmet, head completely dry
An underwater sea walk near Grand Baie in Mauritius lets you descend 2.5–3 meters to the reef in a helmet that supplies air and keeps your head above water, followed by a full afternoon visiting up to four beaches in the north (Trou aux Biches, Mont Choisy, La Cuvette and Pereybere) with private transfers between each stop and back to your hotel. A live guide in English or French leads the underwater portion. Lunch is on your own.

The experience
The underwater walk happens first. You're picked up at your hotel in a private taxi and driven to the northwest coast near Grand Baie, where a short boat ride takes you offshore. Once you descend, the helmet does the work: it supplies air so you breathe normally and keeps your head completely dry, so glasses and contacts stay on. You walk the seafloor at 2.5–3 meters deep for roughly 10–12 minutes, moving among coral reefs and fish while guides stay with you the whole time. The helmet means even non-swimmers can do this: no swimming ability required, no head getting wet.
After you surface, the rest of the day is yours to spend at beaches. Your driver takes you between up to four of them: Trou aux Biches and Pereybere both have street food vendors and casual cafes along the coast, or you can swim and relax on the sand. The private taxi waits and ferries you from one beach to the next, so you're not hunting for transport or timing a shuttle. At the end of the afternoon, the driver brings you back to your hotel in time for dinner.
