The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup and a drive to a restaurant in Port Louis, where you sit down to a 3-course Mauritian dinner. The menu reflects the island's history: French, English, African, Indian, Chinese and Malaysian influences have layered into a single cuisine, and the kitchen offers both vegetarian and halal options. Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) come with the meal.

After dinner, the guide takes you to La Citadel Fort, where you stand above Port Louis at night. The city lights spread out below, and the fort's vantage point is where most visitors stop to photograph the capital. From there, you head to Lucky Strike for your choice of activity: bowling with motion-tracking lanes, or billiards, both popular evening pursuits in Mauritius.

The night ends in Grand-Bay, a village on the north coast known for tourism and nightlife. You choose one of the island's established pubs or lounges, order a drink (not included in the tour price), and stay for live entertainment and dancing. The guide brings you back to your hotel as the evening closes.
