Snorkel Tour Malta: Spot Hidden Marine Life with Local Guide
Find what most snorkelers miss: a guide who knows where the animals hide
Snorkel in Malta's clearest waters with a local guide who spots hidden marine life—octopus, moray eels, nudibranchs, crabs and schools of fish—while you learn about their behavior. The guide chooses locations based on daily sea conditions to avoid crowds and maximize visibility. Snorkeling gear and underwater photos are included; the experience lasts about 90 minutes and starts from the shore near Popeye Village when weather permits.
The Experience
You arrive with a swimsuit and the guide handles the rest. After a short introduction and paperwork, you enter the water directly from the shore—no boat ride, no long swim out. The guide moves slowly through the underwater landscape, stopping to point out creatures most people swim straight past: an octopus pressed flat against rock, a moray eel tucked into a crevice, a nudibranch moving across the seafloor. You learn what you're looking at and how these animals behave in their natural habitat. The locations shift day to day depending on sea conditions, which means clear water and fewer crowds whenever possible.
What sets this apart is the trained eye. A guide who knows where to look finds details that turn a swim into an observation. The experience works whether you're snorkeling for the first time or you've done it before—guidance is provided to help you feel confident in the water. Marine life sightings depend on wild animals and natural conditions, so they're never guaranteed, but the guide's knowledge of where creatures tend to hide stacks the odds in your favor.
You'll receive photos of the experience within 1–7 business days via a download link. Snorkeling gear—mask, snorkel and fins—is provided. Bring your swimsuit, an optional UV rash vest if you have one, and a towel. You do need to swim comfortably; if you don't, the tour cannot continue for safety reasons.
