The Experience

You meet at the dive site for a short briefing on the equipment, the route, the creatures you may encounter, and simple safety techniques for navigating in the dark. Entry is directly from shore — no boat — so you walk into the water and return the same way, staying within a close distance of the coastline where nocturnal activity is concentrated.

The snorkeling mask, fins, snorkel and waterproof torch are all provided. You spend around one and a half hours exploring at a relaxed pace, moving together while the guide points out rays gliding across sandy areas, moray eels peeking from crevices, octopus blending seamlessly into their surroundings, and cuttlefish displaying colour and pattern changes. Smaller marine life — tiny crustaceans, resting fish, subtle movement across the seabed — becomes visible only under torchlight. At the end, you swim back to shore together and exit at the same point where you entered.

The guide speaks English or Italian. A wetsuit can be rented separately if you want extra warmth in the water. You need to be a confident swimmer and have at least moderate physical fitness; children under 12 are not permitted on this activity.
