The Experience
You arrive in Malta and head to the pickup point for a boat crossing to Gozo on a Yippee boat. Once there, you climb into your own buggy and follow an experienced guide across the island's on-road and off-road terrain. The convoy moves through Gozo's coastal routes and lush country trails, passing Ta' Ċenċ Cliffs — the tallest in Gozo at 150 metres — and the dramatic gorge of Wied l-Għasri Valley. You'll see the centuries-old salt pans, Xlendi Bay's rocky coves, and stop at Dwejra to view Fungus Rock and the Inland Sea, a lagoon connected to the Mediterranean through a natural arch.
Midway through the day, the convoy halts for an extended break where you eat a picnic, rest and recharge before heading back out. The return journey shifts from buggy to boat: you board a Yippee boat that sails around Comino's sea caves and the Blue Lagoon. In summer, you stop for a swim in the lagoon's clear water; in winter, weather permitting, you view it from the boat. The boat then returns you to your pickup point in Malta.
Buggies come third-party insured, fueled and ready to drive. You'll get a helmet, hairnet and raincoat if needed. The guide speaks English, French or Arabic depending on your option. Pickup and drop-off happen at your closest point in Malta or Gozo, so the logistics of getting to the start are already arranged.

Is this one for you?Choose the solo driver option if you want full control of the buggy and the freedom to set your own pace within the convoy; pick the shared option if you'd rather split the cost and take turns driving with a partner or friend. Either way, you're operating the vehicle yourself instead of sitting as a passenger, which is what sets this apart from a standard sightseeing tour.

Can I drive the buggy if I've never done it before?

What is Ta' Ċenċ Cliffs and why does the tour stop there?
Ta' Ċenċ Cliffs are the tallest cliffs in Gozo, rising 150 metres above the coast. The area is a protected Natura 2000 site with rare plants and seabirds, and the walk around the cliffs offers views of different geological layers and archaeological remains from megalithic temples.
Do I get to swim during the tour?
Yes, but only in summer. The return boat journey includes a swim stop at Blue Lagoon on Comino Island during the warm months. In winter, weather permitting, you view the lagoon from the boat instead.
What's included in the picnic stop?
The tour provides a picnic for you to eat during an extended break in the middle of the day, giving you time to rest and recharge before the second half of buggy driving.
How long is the boat ride back to Malta?
The return journey by boat includes sightseeing around Comino's caves and the Blue Lagoon, with a swim stop in summer. The exact duration depends on sea conditions and stops, but the full tour is 7 hours total.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The boat crossing to Gozo and the return journey are weather permitting. If conditions prevent the crossing, the operator will arrange an alternative or reschedule. Helmets, raincoats and other gear are provided as needed.
