The Experience

The day starts with a stop at Santa Maria Caves, where the water is clear enough to see the underwater world without fighting a crowd. From there the boat moves to the Blue Lagoon—the famous one—but instead of dropping you in the middle of the throng, you get time to either swim and snorkel or step onto Comino itself to walk around and grab food from the kiosks if you want. The crew prepares a picnic onboard while you're in the water, so when you climb back up there's a charcuterie platter waiting and cold drinks to refill.

The second half of the day takes you to Xatt l-Ahmar, a red-sand beach on the north coast of Gozo where the water stays shallow and sandy—2 to 6 meters deep—and the marine life is abundant. This is where the tour offers a natural clay face mask if you want one, made from the local earth and meant to be applied while you float in the water. It's a quiet spot compared to the lagoons, and the limestone cliffs rise straight up behind you. After that comes the Crystal Lagoon, the smaller bay next to Blue Lagoon that most day-trippers never find. The water is the same clear blue, but bordered by high cliffs and built around a collapsed cave ceiling that lets natural light filter down through a skylight in the rock.

Snorkel gear, goggles, pool noodles and a SUP paddle board are all included, along with fresh water and a complimentary beer or sparkling wine. The boat has a restroom onboard.
