Two snorkel sites and a sandbank, all in one afternoon

A guided snorkeling activity in Malé combining two coral reefs and an untouched sandbank with a sunset dolphin cruise. You meet your guide at Hulhumale Lakundi Jetty, travel 45 minutes by speedboat to the sandbank where you swim and snorkel in the lagoon, then move to a second snorkel point before finishing with an ocean cruise at sunset. The guide is a certified Emergency First Responder and Life Guard. Snorkeling equipment, fish ID card and water are included.

The experience

Hulhumale Lakundi Jetty is where your guide meets you in the morning, holding a Secret Paradise logo board. From there, a 45-minute speedboat ride takes you to a sandbank: the kind of place where you can sunbathe, swim or snorkel in clear lagoon water without the crowds of a resort beach. After a responsible snorkeling briefing, you enter the water at the sandbank itself, then move to a second snorkel point as you leave. Both sites are selected on the day depending on weather and ocean conditions, but the operator promises a colourful array of marine life and coral at each one.

The afternoon finishes with a cruise across the ocean in search of dolphins as the sun sets. Your guide carries a fish identification card to walk you through what you're seeing underwater. Snorkeling equipment, a buoyancy aid, bottled water and a sun umbrella are all provided. If you prefer to bring your own mask and snorkel for fit and comfort, you're welcome to do that instead. The whole activity runs about four hours from start to finish.
