The experience

The park centers on water: the 660-meter Adventure River winds through caves and jungle, holding the Malaysia Book of Records title for Southeast Asia's longest man-made river. Cliff Racer, Tube Raiders and Jungle Wave Bay (a wave pool reaching 3 feet high) make up the water park zone. A separate children's area called Explorabay has giant tipping buckets, water cannons and spraying fountains. The limestone pinnacle called the Needle of Tambun (or Pencil Hill) rises 8 meters above the water attractions, a visual anchor across the park.

Beyond the water park sit seven distinct zones: Lupe's Adventure, the first roller coaster built in Perak state, launched in 2013; Dragon Flights swing-chair ride; Storm Rider, a 180-degree pirate boat swing; Perak Parade carousel for children; Giddy Galleon family cart ride; and Adventure Express, a locomotive tour past ruins, waterfalls and animal enclosures. The zoo area lets visitors feed domestic and wild animals in naturalistic settings: Ruby the raccoon, pythons and Wira the Green Macaw are among the residents. Twenty-foot twin waterfalls frame a river and beach garden throughout the grounds.

The tour runs 8 hours and includes all entrance tickets. If you book with private transfers, pickup happens at 8 am from your Kuala Lumpur hotel lobby, with return transport included. Without transfers, you arrange your own arrival. Bring extra clothes and a towel for the water attractions. Infants can ride in a pram or stroller, and small children sit on an adult's lap on rides. Food and drinks are not included, so plan for meals at the park's facilities.
