The experience
Eight to ten hours gets you through four distinct stops in the Cameron Highlands, starting with Boh tea plantation: one of the oldest estates in the region, sitting at 1,500 meters above sea level. The drive itself winds through mountain scenery. Your driver knows these roads well and handles the curves safely. You'll spend time at the plantation itself, then move on to Rose Valley, a garden with hundreds of plant varieties, flowers, exotic species from the old rainforest, and animals. It's the kind of place where you can walk at your own pace.
The second tea estate, opened in 1933 by an Indian family, offers a different angle on the same crop: vast tea fields with a cafe where you can order a cup and sit with the view. Many visitors take a buggy ride through the rows or walk the plantation grounds. From there, the tour includes the local market, where farmers sell vegetables, fruits, flowers, corn and sweet potatoes, then finishes at Raju's Hill, a small strawberry farm where you can pick fresh fruit and try strawberry-themed treats. The whole route is built around what grows in the cool, misty highlands.
Your guide travels with you in an air-conditioned vehicle and shares stories about the region's history and culture, pointing out hidden spots most visitors miss. Bottled water is provided. Pickup and drop-off happen anywhere in Ipoh City that suits your hotel or accommodation, and you can customize the stops and timing to fit the rest of your day. Lunch at Cameron Valley Tea is optional. You choose at checkout whether to add it.
