The experience

You meet your group at a designated spot on Cenang Beach, where the guide runs through a safety briefing and shows you how to operate the jet ski. Then you hop on and follow the guide's lead across the water to eight islands scattered through the Langkawi archipelago. The route takes you over the Andaman Sea in a convoy, with a stop at Tepur Island partway through for a check-in and advice on riding in formation. The whole run takes four hours.

Dayang Bunting Island is the main event: you arrive at the lookout point and see the silhouette of the pregnant maiden formed by the hills and rocky outcrops on one side of Dayang Bunting Lake. The largest freshwater lake in Malaysia. The contrast between the saltwater sea and the freshwater lake sitting in the middle of it is the draw here, along with the legend that names the island.
