The experience

Bsharre sits in the Qadisha Valley, and the day starts at the Cedars of God Forest: one of the oldest forests in the world, where the cedar is Lebanon's national tree. You walk among these ancient trees, some thousands of years old, before heading to the Gibran Museum. The museum occupies a former monastery and holds the artwork, writings and personal belongings of Kahlil Gibran, the Lebanese poet, philosopher and artist. His tomb is also inside. The final stop is St Anthony of Kozhaya, a monastery built partly into the mountain and partly outside it, surrounded by forest, rocky cliffs and the valley panorama.

Because this is a private tour, the route is flexible. You can add extra stops based on your interests and how much time you want to spend at each site. The driver picks you up from your hotel or port in Beirut and handles all transport. You bring only yourself. Bottled water is provided throughout the day. The tour typically takes between 7 and 11 hours depending on how many stops you make and how long you linger at each one.
