The experience
The tour starts with the Great Ķemeri Bog, a raised wetland where a nature guide reveals the ecology and wildlife hidden inside this protected landscape. Rather than a quick walk-through, the guide interprets what you're standing in (how the bog formed, what lives there, why it matters), so the boardwalk becomes a story instead of a path. From there you move to Lake Kaņieris, a former sea lagoon and one of Latvia's richest birdwatching areas. You climb the tower to scan for birds and wildlife across the protected habitats that ring the water.
The route then takes you through the park's wet forests to the natural sulphur springs before ending on the Baltic coast, where sandy beaches meet fragrant coastal pine forests. Throughout the day, the guide shares local insights and adjusts the stops and timing to what the group wants to see and how conditions shift in nature. Roundtrip transfer from Riga is included, so you don't arrange transport, and local snacks keep you going between stops. The tour runs 7 hours total, including the drive time.
