This is your chance to watch sunrise over Kemeri’s misty bogs, walk peaceful trails before crowds arrive, explore Jurmala’s mix of villas and wooden homes, and dip your toes in the Baltic Sea—all with a friendly local guide who knows every shortcut and story along the way.
Our driver pulled up while the city was still half asleep—just a few streetlights blinking in the blue hour. I clutched my cup of hot tea, still warm from the thermos, and tried not to spill it as we bumped along empty roads out toward Kemeri National Park. The guide handed out flaky pastries that smelled faintly sweet, and honestly, that first bite woke me up faster than the caffeine did.
Out on the bog trail, everything felt hushed except for a few birds calling somewhere far off. The wooden planks were slick with dew under my boots. We had two route options—our group picked the longer one since nobody wanted to rush through those early golden rays stretching across the moss. Our guide pointed out tiny carnivorous plants hiding near our feet and explained how locals used to gather cranberries here when autumn rolled in.
Afterwards, we drove through Jurmala’s quieter neighborhoods—some streets lined with grand old villas painted in faded pastels, others dotted with wooden houses that looked like they’d been standing for a century or more. At the beach stop, I kicked off my shoes and let the cold sand wake me up all over again. In summer, you can even jump into the Baltic Sea if you’re feeling brave enough; one of us did and came back grinning and shivering.
You’ll be picked up about 1.5 hours before sunrise so you reach the park just as nature wakes up. Exact timing depends on the season.
You’ll get fresh pastries plus coffee or tea to start your day right before heading out onto the trails.
Yes! In summertime there’s time for a quick swim in the Baltic Sea during your stop at Jurmala beach.
Absolutely—infants can ride in strollers or prams, and specialized infant seats are available if needed.
Your morning includes private transportation from your accommodation with WiFi onboard so you can share those first sunrise photos right away. There’s bottled water waiting for you, plus a pastry with your choice of coffee or tea to help shake off any sleepiness. And when it’s time to walk or climb towers (if open), your guide will make sure everyone feels comfortable along each step of the way.
