The experience

The route starts in Peja and follows the Rugova Canyon, a dramatic natural formation cut by the Lumbardhi River through steep rock walls and lush forest. You ride past Shtupeq i Madhë mountain village and continue toward Podi Jakupit and Rusolia-Edelweiss mountain, staying inside Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park for most of the day. The e-bike motor handles the climbing so you can focus on the terrain and the views across the mountain tops rather than burning out on steep sections.

The tour stops at White Drin natural park to see the White Drin waterfall, the biggest in the region, and the water spring that feeds it. Above the waterfall sits the Sleeping Beauty touristic cave, open daily from April through October. The cave and waterfall sit 200 meters apart, and both are accessible as part of the same stop. The landscape around them is dense with bird species and plant life, and the area works well for photographs and a break before the ride back.

You get a new 29-inch e-mountain bike fitted to your size, a safety helmet, and admission to both the waterfall area and the cave. A live guide in English leads the group and handles the route. The tour runs five to six hours total. Public transportation options are available near the start point if you need to reach Peja from elsewhere in Kosovo.
