The experience
The tour starts with a hotel or airport pickup and a drive south through the Great Rift Valley Escarpment to Masai Mara. You'll descend via Narok town and arrive at camp for lunch, then head out on an evening game drive to catch the sunset over the reserve. Day two is a full day in Masai Mara: an early breakfast, packed lunch, and a complete circuit of the park hunting for lions, elephants, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeest, zebra and antelope. The sightings depend on where the animals are that day.
On day three you combine a morning game drive with the crossing into Tanzania at Isebania Border, arriving at Serengeti National Park by afternoon. Day four is another full day in the Serengeti: you'll explore the central plains and northern sections, visit the hippo pool and Mara River area, and return to camp at dusk. Day five takes you through the Serengeti one more time in the early morning before the drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. An optional stop at Olduvai Gorge Museum breaks the journey. The final day is the Ngorongoro Crater itself. You descend into the caldera for a game drive among the 25,000 animals that live on the crater floor, picnic at the rim, and drive back to Arusha by afternoon.
A professional English-speaking driver-guide leads every game drive and handles all logistics. You receive one liter of mineral water each day, and all park entrance fees are covered. Accommodations are at lodges or tented camps near each park, with dinner and breakfast included each night.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 9 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What animals will I actually see on this 6-day safari?
The big five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino) are present in all three parks, though sightings are never guaranteed on any single day. The itinerary also includes cheetah, hippo, crocodile, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hyena and various antelope species. Serengeti and Masai Mara are known for large herds of wildebeest and zebra, especially during migration season.
How much time do I spend actually driving and looking for animals each day?
Days two and four are full-day game drives with a packed lunch break in the field. You're in the vehicle from early morning until late afternoon. Day one includes an evening drive after arrival. Day three combines a morning drive with the border crossing and travel to Serengeti. Day five has a morning drive before the journey to Ngorongoro. Day six is a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater itself, then the return to Arusha.
What is the Ngorongoro Crater actually like to visit?
Ngorongoro Crater is a collapsed volcanic caldera roughly 12 miles across, with steep walls and a flat floor that holds over 25,000 animals year-round. You descend into it by vehicle on day six for a game drive among the concentrated wildlife, then picnic at the rim before ascending and driving back to Arusha. It is one of the few places where you can see a complete ecosystem in a single location.
Do I need any special fitness level or experience for this tour?
The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. You spend most of each day seated in a vehicle during game drives. The main physical demand is sitting for extended periods. The vehicle does the traveling and the guide does the spotting.
What happens if I want to see the wildebeest migration?
The migration timing varies each year depending on rainfall and grass conditions. Serengeti and Masai Mara both host massive herds of wildebeest and zebra, but which park holds them on which dates shifts seasonally. The itinerary visits both parks across days two through five, giving you multiple chances to encounter large herds, though the exact location of the migration on your travel dates depends on the season.
