The experience
How do you fit one of the world's great ruins into a single day from Aqaba? This tour solves the logistics: your driver picks you up early morning and handles the 2-hour drive each way, leaving you the afternoon to explore Petra itself. The site sits 2 hours inland, so the full day accounts for travel time, but that trade-off is what makes the ruins reachable without a separate car rental or multi-day commitment.
At Petra, you meet your private guide and either hike or ride a horse down into the Siq: a long, winding sandstone canyon that opens onto the Treasury, the site's most recognizable monument. The tour continues through the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater carved into the cliff face, and the Royal Tombs. Petra was the capital of the Nabataean kingdom and remained hidden from the outside world until 1812. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of three additional languages, and the vehicle is air-conditioned with bottled water included.
At checkout, you pick between two options: transportation only, or transportation plus guide and entry to the site. If you book the guide option, entry is handled. If you choose transportation only, you arrange entry separately. Either way, the pickup is from your hotel and the vehicle accommodates wheelchairs and car seats for infants.

- Private transportation from your hotel with an air-conditioned vehicle.
- bottled water during the drive.

Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 9 years); Infant (under 6): free.
How long is the drive from Aqaba to Petra?
The drive is 2 hours each way, so 4 hours of the 8–9 hour day is spent in the air-conditioned vehicle. That leaves the afternoon for exploring the site itself.
What is the Siq and what will I see there?
The Siq is a long, winding sandstone canyon that leads to the Treasury, Petra's most famous monument. You hike or ride a horse down into it, and the canyon opens onto the Treasury facade carved into the rose-red cliff face.
Do I need to book the guide, or can I explore Petra on my own?

Is the tour accessible for wheelchairs and strollers?
The vehicle is wheelchair accessible and can carry specialized infant seats and strollers. The site itself has wheelchair-accessible areas and surfaces, though Petra involves significant walking and some terrain is uneven.
