The experience
Ginza's wagashi class starts with an introduction to Japanese sweets and their place in the culture, then moves straight to making. You'll craft two different types of wagashi with an instructor guiding each step, using ingredients and equipment provided. The instructor speaks English or Japanese, so you can follow along in whichever language works for you.
After you finish making, you move to the tea room to enjoy matcha and Japanese sweets. A chance to taste what you've made and sit with the experience. A photo session is built into the class so you can capture what you've created. If you have time after, there's a shop on-site where traditional Japanese crafts are available to browse.
