The experience

Ginza's workshop puts you at a table with natural wood, traditional hand tools, and step-by-step instruction from a local guide who speaks English or Japanese. You'll shape the wood, sand it smooth, and learn why different woods and shapes matter in Japanese dining. No experience is needed. The pace is relaxed and built for first-timers. The guide walks you through each stage, answering questions about the craft and the culture behind it as you work.

Once your chopsticks are finished, you choose a design and the laser engraving happens on-site. You leave the same day with your pair wrapped in protective packaging, ready to use at home or wrapped as a gift. A complimentary drink arrives partway through, a small break built into the hour to step back and see what you've made so far.
