The experience
This nine to ten-hour tour strings together five stops that would take days to reach independently from Osaka. You start at Katsuo-ji Temple in Minoh City, an 8th-century Buddhist temple known for its countless daruma dolls: small wooden figures that visitors offer as symbols of perseverance and good fortune. The temple sits in a forest setting, particularly striking in autumn when maple leaves turn red and gold. From there, the route moves to Minoo Falls, a 33-meter cascade within Meiji-no-Mori Minoh Quasi-National Park, where an easy walking path leads through lush forest to the base of the waterfall.
The tour then crosses into Kyoto to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, where towering stalks create a narrow, rustling path that feels removed from the city. After that comes Todai-ji Temple in Nara, home to the Daibutsu: a bronze Buddha statue 15 meters tall housed in one of the world's largest wooden structures. The final stop is Nara Park, where sika deer roam freely and interact with visitors. Transportation between sites is included, and the guide speaks English and Chinese throughout the day.
The tour is designed for families and mixed fitness levels. Infants and small children can travel in a stroller, and the route includes paved paths and well-maintained walkways. A minimum of ten guests is required for the tour to run. If fewer book, you can reschedule to a later date or receive a full refund. The operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary in case of extreme weather or unforeseen events.
