The experience
The class starts with an instructor walking you through how to use the professional-grade pens and screen tone tools (both analog and digital) that real manga artists rely on. Then you draw. What you create is up to you: a character of your own design, a copy of an original character, a four-frame comic, or a full single-page panel. The tools are the real thing, so the moment you put pen to paper, you're working the same way a professional cartoonist does.
This is the only place in Japan where you can step into a manga studio and actually draw, rather than watch or tour. The two-hour window gives you enough time to move past the mechanics and into the rhythm of it: the reason people come back. One drink is included. Public transportation stops nearby if you're staying elsewhere in the city or don't have a car.
What’s included

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (10 to 17 years). Under 10: they can't be included in the booking.
Can I draw a character I make up, or do I have to copy something?
You choose. The instructor will show you how to use the tools, and then you can draw an original character, copy an existing one, or work on a four-frame or single-page comic: whatever appeals to you.
What's the difference between the analog pens and the digital tools?
Both are available in the studio. The analog pens are what traditional manga artists use on paper. The digital tools let you draw on screen. The instructor will explain how each one works, and you can use whichever feels right for what you want to make.
Do I need to know how to draw already?
No. The instructor explains how to use the tools and walks you through the basics. Anyone can freely draw manga here. That's the whole point.
How long is the class, and what's included?
The class runs two hours. You get all the tools to draw, one drink, and instruction from someone who knows the craft.
