The experience

Ninety minutes covers the whole arc: you arrive at a restored Kyoto townhouse, meet your guide (a former Maiko who spent years in the tradition), and step onto an authentic Noh stage. Two dances unfold in front of you, each one a study in restraint and precision. The guide narrates in English, explaining the movements and the stories behind them, so you're not watching from outside but following along.

After the dances comes the tea ceremony. Matcha is prepared in front of you, and you drink it alongside traditional sweets. This is not a rushed demonstration. It's the real ritual, slowed down so you can see how each gesture connects to the next. Then comes ozashiki-asobi: the parlor games that geishas and their guests have played for centuries.
