The experience
Fifteen minutes might sound short, but it is the shooting time: the part where you hold the remote and frame every shot. Before that, you walk into the studio and choose your kimono or yukata from a selection of about 200. The staff helps you dress: obi, clogs, the full set. No rushing, no performance for a photographer's lens. You are alone in front of the camera, which means you shoot what you want, when you want, as many times as you want. The equipment is the same authentic gear professionals use, so the images come out clean and sharp.
The studio is built around one idea: you direct the session. No photographer means no waiting for someone else's vision or worrying about being watched. You frame, you pose, you click the remote. If you want thirty shots of the same angle, take thirty. If you want to try five different kimonos in the frame, the time is yours. When you are done, the studio sends all the photo data to you (Airdrop or Google Drive, your choice), so you leave with everything you shot.
The location matters for what comes next. Shukkeien Garden, famous for its Japanese landscaping, is a 2-minute walk away. Hiroshima Castle and Gokoku Shrine are 5 minutes on foot. If you want to step outside the studio and photograph yourself in kimono at one of these sites, you have time. Just plan to return by 4:45pm, when the store closes at 5pm. The studio sits close to downtown Hiroshima, so getting anywhere else in the city is straightforward.
