The experience

The Big Red tube is the centerpiece: you board the speedboat and hold on while it accelerates through the ocean, with one to four people riding at once. The boat driver will test your grip. The challenge is staying on as long as you can while the water sprays and the engine roars. After 15 to 20 minutes of that adrenaline, you climb out and transition to the glass bottom boat for the second half of the day.

The glass bottom boat sits low enough that you look straight down through the hull at Jamaica's coral reefs without getting wet. The 45-minute ride moves slowly over the reef system, and the fish are dense and colorful: the operator calls them the most vibrant you'll see in the Caribbean. You can watch through the glass or step outside to feel the ocean breeze and take in the view from above water. The whole outing, including the air-conditioned vehicle ride to and from your hotel, takes about 90 minutes.

Life jackets are provided for both activities. You can book the full experience, tubing plus glass bottom boat, or choose speed tubing only if you want to keep the day shorter.
