Snorkeling Jamaica: Glass Bottom Boat & Reef Tour
Watch the reef from inside the boat, or put on a mask and swim into it
Snorkel and glass bottom boat tour in Jamaica's Negril Marine Park, where you choose between viewing tropical fish and coral through crystal-clear windows or entering the water with guides at the most active reef spots. The 2-hour outing includes snorkeling equipment, snacks, and pickup; it suits families, non-swimmers and reef enthusiasts in a single experience.
Step-by-step itinerary
Snorkel and cruise at Seven Mile Beach
- Board custom-built glass bottom boat
- View coral and tropical fish underwater
- Join guided snorkel session at reef
The Experience
The glass bottom boat is the entry point. You board at Seven Mile Beach and settle into the custom-built vessel, where the viewing windows drop you straight into the underwater world without getting wet. Brain coral, sea fans, and schools of tropical fish move past the glass as the boat drifts over the protected Negril Marine Park. Non-swimmers and families with young children stay aboard and watch; the reef comes to them.
If you brought a mask and want to be in the water instead of watching it, the expert guides lead a snorkel session at the most active reef spots. The equipment is provided—you just need to decide whether to stay on deck or go under. Both happen in the same 2 hours, so you're not choosing between two separate trips; you're choosing your vantage point for one.
Pickup is included, and snacks come with the outing. The boat accommodates families, infants (who sit on an adult's lap), and all fitness levels. Service animals are welcome aboard.

Is this one for you?Bring a family with mixed swimmers and non-swimmers, or go alone if you want the reef without the commitment of a full dive. The glass bottom boat means everyone sees the same marine life—some from the water, some from the deck—so nobody sits out the experience.

Can I snorkel if I've never done it before?
Yes. Expert guides lead the snorkel session and work with first-timers at the reef spots. If you'd rather not enter the water, the glass bottom boat windows let you see the same fish and coral without getting in.
What will I see underwater at Negril Marine Park?
Brain coral, sea fans, and schools of tropical fish are the main sights. The reef is active enough that the guides choose it as the snorkel spot, so the marine life is consistent through the 2-hour outing.
Is this tour okay for young children and non-swimmers?
Yes. Non-swimmers and children can stay on the glass bottom boat and watch through the viewing windows the whole time. Infants sit on an adult's lap. The boat is designed so families don't have to choose between the reef and staying dry.
What's included in the price?
Snorkeling equipment, snacks, and pickup are all included. If you snorkel, the guides are with you; if you stay on the boat, the windows do the work.
How long is the whole outing?
The experience runs 2 hours from start to finish, including the time on the boat and any time spent snorkeling at the reef.
