The experience

The boat leaves early from 7 Mile Beach while the reef is waking up. You'll snorkel the coral reef with all equipment onboard (mask, fins and snorkel are ready to use), and watch the marine life start their day. The reef is the main event, but the caves in West End are what set this morning apart. They're naturally lit, carved into the rock, and home to sea cucumber, baby bats and the occasional dolphin if conditions allow. You swim inside them rather than just looking from a distance.

The catamaran carries drinks and snacks throughout, so you're not managing hunger or thirst between stops. Music plays on deck. Weather permitting, there's a sail past Rick's Cafe on the way back. The whole outing runs four hours, timed to finish before the day gets hot and crowded. You'll need to wade into the water to board. Wear beach clothes and leave the heels on shore.
