The experience
The day starts with pickup from your Montego Bay hotel, Falmouth hotel, or the cruise ship pier, then a drive west along the coast to Negril. You arrive at 7-Mile Beach mid-morning, a long crescent of pale sand backed by palm trees and beach bars. The water is clear enough to see down, and the beach stays shallow for a long way out. Snorkeling and paddleboarding are available if you want them. Most people swim, float, and walk the length of the sand. Lunch comes from the beachside shacks that line the shore: jerk chicken, fresh fish, rice and peas, the food travelers come back for.
Late afternoon, your guide takes you to Rick's Cafe, a restaurant and bar built on the cliffs above the water. The views south across the Caribbean are the main draw, but the cafe is also known for cliff diving: people jump from the rocks into the water below, and the crowd cheers them on. You order a drink or a meal and watch the sun drop toward the horizon. As it gets dark, a band sets up and people dance on the terrace. The energy builds as the night goes on, but your guide will let you know when it's time to head back to the vehicle for the drive back to Montego Bay.
Children from age five are welcome on this tour. Bring a towel, swimwear, a change of clothes, and sunscreen. The sun on the beach is intense and there's no shade except under the palms. The vehicle is air-conditioned, so the ride is comfortable even in the heat of the day.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 12 years). Children under 5 can't be included in the booking.
What is 7-Mile Beach actually like when I get there?
7-Mile Beach is a long, open stretch of powdery white sand with clear turquoise water, lined with palm trees and casual beach bars and restaurants. It's shallow and calm enough for swimming and snorkeling, and busy enough that you'll see other travelers but not so crowded that you can't find a place to sit.
Can I eat lunch on the beach, or is it included in the tour?
Lunch is not included, but the beach is lined with beachside shacks serving local Jamaican food (jerk chicken, fresh fish, rice and peas) at casual prices. You order and pay directly at the shack.
What happens at Rick's Cafe, and how long do we stay there?
Rick's Cafe is a clifftop restaurant and bar where you order drinks and food and watch the sunset over the Caribbean. The cafe is also known for cliff diving, where people jump from the rocks into the water below. Live music and dancing start in the evening, and you'll spend the later part of your day there before heading back.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer to do this tour?
No. 7-Mile Beach is shallow and calm, and swimming is optional: many people just wade, float, or walk the sand. Snorkeling and paddleboarding are available if you want them, but you don't have to do anything beyond what feels comfortable.
Which pickup location should I choose?
Pick the one closest to where you're staying: Montego Bay Hotel or Airbnb, Falmouth Hotel, or Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. The tour includes pickup and drop-off at your location, and the drive to Negril is the same from any of them.
