The experience

The Martha Brae River glows at night because of bioluminescent organisms in the water. A natural phenomenon you won't see anywhere else. You swim through it (or stay on the boat if you prefer to watch), and the water lights up in response to your movement. The activity only happens after dark, when the water is low enough for safe entry and the glow is visible. Non-swimmers can stand in the shallow water or remain on the boat and watch the display from there.

The experience includes a drive through Falmouth's historic town, passing local vendors and the waterfront, before you reach the lagoon. A live guide leads the outing in English, Spanish, Italian, French or another language, and local Jamaican festival dancing provides entertainment during the evening. Private transportation picks you up and brings you back, with all landing and facility fees covered.

The whole outing runs about an hour. You'll travel in an air-conditioned vehicle, and the setup works for all fitness levels: families with infants can bring a pram or stroller, and specialized infant seats are available if needed.
