The experience
The day starts with pickup from your Montego Bay resort in an air-conditioned vehicle. Your guide handles the drive to Ocho Rios and stays with you at both stops, managing the logistics so you focus on the water. Dunn's River Falls is the centerpiece: a natural staircase of limestone terraces that descends 600 feet to meet the sea. You climb it hand-in-hand with other guests, moving up the cascades with the guide's help, cooling off in pools between each tier. The water is cold and the rocks are slippery, so the guide's presence matters.
Blue Hole comes next: a cluster of freshwater pools fed by an underground spring, surrounded by dense tropical growth. The water here is calmer than the falls, and deeper. Most visitors jump from the rocks into the pools or wade into the quieter sections to float. The guide can point out the ecology and the best spots for each comfort level, from the shallow edges to the deeper jump zones. Bottled water and Red Stripe beer are yours throughout the day.
The total time spans three to six hours, with travel included in that count. How long you stay at each site is flexible within the day: some groups spend more time climbing the falls, others linger longer at Blue Hole. Infants and small children can come along. They'll need to sit on an adult's lap in the vehicle, and strollers work for the resort and parking areas, though the waterfall and pool sites themselves are not stroller-friendly.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 18).
What is it like to climb Dunn's River Falls?
Dunn's River Falls descends in terraces to the sea, and you climb up it hand-in-hand with other guests and your guide. The water is cold and refreshing, and you move from pool to pool between each cascade, so you can rest and cool off as you go up. The guide ensures safety and helps you navigate the slippery rocks.
Can I jump at Blue Hole, or is it just for swimming?
Blue Hole has both options. The pools are deep enough for jumping from the rocks if you want that thrill, but there are also shallow areas and calm sections where you can wade and float. Your guide can show you the safest jump spots and the best places to relax.
How much time do I spend traveling versus at the attractions?
Travel time from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios is included in the three- to six-hour total, so the actual time at Dunn's River Falls and Blue Hole depends on how long you choose to stay at each one. Your guide can adjust the pace to match your group's interests.
Is alcohol included, and who can drink it?
Red Stripe beer and bottled water are both included throughout the day. Only travelers 18 and older can have the beer. Younger guests get water.
What should I bring or wear?
Wear swimwear under clothes you can change out of easily, and bring a towel. Water shoes or sandals with grip help on the slippery rocks at Dunn's River Falls. Sunscreen and a hat are wise for the tropical sun. The vehicle is air-conditioned, so you'll be comfortable during the drive.
