The experience

The climb at Dunn's River Falls happens in a human chain led by experienced guides, so you're not scrambling solo up the rocks. The falls stretch 180 feet high and 600 feet long in a natural staircase that flows directly into the Caribbean Sea: a rare setup where a waterfall meets the beach. If climbing doesn't appeal, the pools and views at the base work just as well, and you're never forced up the rocks.

After the falls, you float the White River on an inflatable tube, drifting through gentle rapids and calm sections with overhanging trees and tropical growth on both sides. It's the opposite pace from the climb: you're moving but not exerting, watching the landscape pass instead of working your way up it. The operator arranges a lunch stop and shopping time during the day, so you're not eating on the fly.
