- Hike through Lethe village
- Learn history and plants
- Enjoy fresh seasonal fruits
- Drink fresh coconut water
- Visit natural spring waterfall
- Swim or take photos
The experience
The hike starts where the bamboo rafts are located: your driver drops you and you meet your certified guide, who is from Lethe itself. For the next 1½ hours, you walk through the village's trails, past lush greenery and tropical plants, learning the history of the area as you move toward the natural spring and waterfall. The guide points out what's in season and hands you fresh fruit to eat as you walk. You also get to sip coconut water cut straight from the palm trees. It's not a strenuous outing, the terrain suits all fitness levels, but it moves at a steady pace through real bush, not a manicured path.
The waterfall is the endpoint: a crisp, clear natural spring where you can jump in and cool off, or simply stand and photograph it surrounded by tropical plants. After you've had your time there, the hike reverses back toward the pickup point. Roundtrip transport in an air-conditioned vehicle is included, along with bottled water for the walk.

Is this one for you? This is a shared tour with a local guide leading the group, so you're hiking at the guide's pace and stopping where he stops. It works well if you want someone who knows Lethe to show you the plants and history, and if you're comfortable walking at a moderate pace for 1½ hours on uneven bush trails.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the hike actually like in Lethe village?
The trail winds through wild bushes and tropical plants in the small village of Lethe, following paths toward a natural waterfall and spring. Your guide, who lives in Lethe, explains the area's history as you walk, and stops to show you edible plants and seasonal fruit you can pick and eat along the way.
Can I swim at the waterfall?
Yes. The natural waterfall and spring are deep enough to jump in and swim, though you can also stay dry and take photographs if you prefer. Either way, you'll have time to spend there before heading back.
How much walking is involved?
The hike lasts 1½ hours total and is suitable for all fitness levels. You're moving at a steady pace through bush terrain, but it's not steep or technical: families with children and people of varying fitness can manage it.
What do I need to bring?
Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots for the bush trails and bring a swimsuit if you plan to jump in the waterfall. Bottled water is provided, and the guide will give you fresh fruit and coconut water during the hike.
