The experience
Hotel pickup from Falmouth means you start the day without arranging a ride. A scenic drive north along the coast takes you to the Blue Hole and Secret Falls, tucked in the hills near Ocho Rios away from the main towns. The Blue Hole itself is a natural mineral pool ringed by rainforest where you can jump off the edge into deep water, swing on Tarzan ropes or swim under the caves. Your guide helps with photos. A 5-minute hike through the woods leads to Secret Falls, where you stand under the cascading water for shots of your own.
After Blue Hole, the minivan carries you to Dunn's River Falls, the larger and more famous site. An experienced falls guide leads you up the 600-foot climb in a human chain, moving from pool to pool along the terraced rocks. You stop for photos and swimming at intervals, and at one point you can pause at the "massage parlour" where the water cascades down in a way that feels like a natural massage. The whole climb takes roughly an hour and a half. If you want to exit early, you can. If climbing isn't for you, the terrace offers a safe vantage point to watch others.
The tour also includes a brief stop at Columbus Park Museum in Discovery Bay, where you can photograph old relics and artifacts from when Christopher Columbus landed in 1494. You pass through Runaway Bay on the drive, a scenic stretch between the coast and the green mountains. Transport is by air-conditioned minivan, and the guide handles the logistics so you focus on the water and the climbing. Skip-the-line entry at Dunn's River is included, so you don't wait at the gate.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 11 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I bring my own camera to take photos at the waterfalls?
Yes, bring a waterproof camera if you have one. Professional photographers are on site, but your falls guide will help you take your own pictures as well.
What is the Blue Hole actually like when I get there?
Blue Hole is a natural mineral pool surrounded by rainforest, with bright blue water and several ways to play: you can jump off the edge into the deep pool, swing on ropes, or swim up under caves. It's smaller and more intimate than Dunn's River, designed for swimming and exploration rather than climbing.
How hard is the climb up Dunn's River Falls?
The climb is roughly 600 feet over about an hour and a half, and you move as part of a guided chain with experienced falls guides. There are pools and exit points along the way, so you can rest, take photos or leave the chain if you need to. The guides set the pace and help you up each section.
What happens if I'm not comfortable climbing or swimming?
You can watch from the terrace or deck at Dunn's River without joining the climb. At Blue Hole, you control how deep you go into the water and whether you use the ropes or caves. The guide adjusts to your comfort level.
Does the tour include food or drinks?
Food and drinks are available to purchase during the tour, but they are not included in the price. Bring cash or check what payment methods the vendors accept at each stop.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes. Bring a waterproof camera if you have one, sunscreen and a towel. The minivan is air-conditioned, so you'll be comfortable between stops.
