The experience
The morning starts in Syracuse's historic center with a guided walk through the streets and into Ortigia Market, where you'll spot the produce, seafood and cheeses that define Sicilian cooking. You stop at traditional food shops to understand what makes each ingredient matter, then carry your selections to a local home kitchen where the actual cooking begins.
In the kitchen, you'll learn to prepare a classic Sicilian dish (pasta alla Norma, a seafood specialty, or arancini) using the ingredients you've just chosen. The instruction is hands-on. You're not watching a demonstration. Once the meal is ready, you sit down in that same home to eat it, paired with a glass of regional wine. The whole experience runs three hours.
