Capture every moment with drone and underwater footage while savoring Sardinia’s finest flavors

An eight-hour snorkeling excursion in Sardinia's Gulf of Olbia departs at 9:30am to search for wild dolphins, then anchors at Figarolo, Cala Moresca, the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara with natural pools at Molara, and Cala Girgolu. You swim and snorkel at each stop, eat a Sardinian aperitif and lunch with local wine, and return around 5:30pm. A skipper leads the boat. Snorkeling equipment and all food are included.

The experience

The boat leaves at 9:30am to hunt for dolphins swimming free in the gulf. The first stop is Figarolo, then Cala Moresca, where the water shifts between deep blue and emerald green as you descend. You snorkel with your own mask and fins, supplied by the operator, and surface to eat: a Sardinian aperitif of cold cuts, cheeses, carasau bread, vegetables, wine and sparkling wine, served on the boat between swims.

The route then heads into the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara, anchoring at Molara's natural pools for more snorkeling and a full lunch. The final stop is Cala Girgolu, a cluster of small coves where Sassi Piatti and Spiaggia delle Vacche break up the afternoon with another round of swimming and snorkeling. The skipper speaks English, Spanish, Italian or German, and a drone and underwater camera capture video of the day so you have footage to take home. Return is scheduled for around 5:30pm.

The boat runs on a fixed schedule and a set route, which means the skipper knows where dolphins tend to surface and has timed the stops to fit the snorkeling and eating into a single day without rushing. Wifi is available on board.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English, Spanish, German and Italian.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years); Infant (under 4): free.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

Can I snorkel if I've never done it before?

Yes. The skipper supplies all snorkeling equipment and the stops are in shallow, calm water where you can stand. The operator notes the activity suits all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or during pregnancy.

What's the water like at Cala Moresca and Molara?

Cala Moresca is known for the contrast between deep blue and emerald green water, which shifts as the depth changes. Molara has natural pools within the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara, so the water is clear and protected from currents.

Do we actually see dolphins?

The boat departs specifically to meet dolphins swimming free in the gulf, and a dolphin sighting is the first stop of the day. The operator does not guarantee sightings, but the route is planned around where dolphins are known to surface.

What food and drink are included?

A Sardinian aperitif with local cold cuts, cheeses, carasau bread, vegetables, wine, sparkling wine and beer is served between the first two snorkeling stops. A full lunch follows at Molara. All drinks and food are included in the price.

How do I get to the boat if I don't have a car?

Public transportation options are available near the departure point in the Gulf of Olbia. The operator does not arrange transfers, so you'll need to arrange your own way to the marina or check local bus and taxi services in advance.
