This eight-hour guided tour covers three of Sicily's most significant sites: the Neapolis Archaeological Park in Siracusa, where you explore the Greek theater and Roman amphitheater at your own pace; the island of Ortigia, the ancient heart of Greek Sicily; and Noto, a UNESCO-listed city rebuilt entirely in late baroque style after an earthquake. The Experience

The day starts with hotel pickup and a drive to Siracusa's Neapolis Archaeological Park, where you spend time exploring on your own. The park holds the Greek theater—one of the largest ever built—along with the Ear of Dionisio, a limestone cave carved into the hillside, and a Roman amphitheater. You move through them at your own pace, without a guide narrating the route, so you can linger where the stone speaks to you or move quickly through sections that don't hold you.

After the park, the minivan takes you to Ortigia, the island at Siracusa's center and the core of ancient Greek Sicily. You have leisure time to walk its narrow streets, sit in its squares, and eat lunch (not included in the tour price). The island is small enough to cover on foot, and the baroque and medieval architecture crowds the waterfront and the older quarters.

The final stop is Noto, a UNESCO city about an hour south. Unlike Ortigia, Noto was rebuilt from the ground up in the early 1700s after an earthquake destroyed the medieval town, and the result is a single coherent statement in late baroque style—wide streets, honey-colored stone, and churches and palaces designed to catch the light. You walk through it with the group before the return drive to your hotel. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat and sun protection; a light jacket is useful for the wind. The tour runs eight hours total.
