Scuba Diving La Maddalena Archipelago & Lavezzi: Two Dives
Two dives in the La Maddalena Archipelago, conditions permitting
A shared small-group scuba dive from Palau explores the La Maddalena Archipelago and Lavezzi marine park with a guide leading two dives selected from over 60 sites. The boat departs in the morning, and after a one-hour surface interval with light breakfast on board, you descend to a second site. Groupers, barracudas, snappers, amberjacks, stingrays, and nudibranchs are common. Dolphins, red tunas, and mobula rays appear occasionally. Snorkeling equipment is available for non-divers.

The experience
The boat leaves Palau in the morning and heads to the La Maddalena Archipelago and Lavezzi marine park, where your guide selects two dive sites from more than 60 options based on that day's conditions. You descend into meadows of Posidonia and walls of red soft Mediterranean gorgonia, where groupers, barracudas, snappers, amberjacks, stingrays, and nudibranchs are reliably present. Dolphins, red tunas, and mobula rays surface occasionally, though sightings depend on the season and the day.
Between the two dives, you surface for a one-hour interval and eat a light breakfast on the boat before gearing up again. The guide leads both dives and adjusts depth and duration to match your certification level and the site conditions. If you hold a valid Open Water Diver certification, you can dive. If you don't dive, snorkeling equipment is available so you can stay in the water during the surface interval or explore the shallows while the divers are down.
The group stays small, and the morning timing means calmer water and better visibility than afternoon departures often find. Soda, bottled water, and snacks are provided on the boat. Scuba equipment rental is available at the diving center if you don't bring your own. The return to Palau happens after the second dive, typically in the early afternoon.
