You'll spend an hour inside the House Museum of Soap, housed in an old restored building with high ceilings and original stonework. The tour covers soap history back to 2800 B.C., the science behind soap making, and the technical details of production. You'll see old machines, two antique presses, and other agricultural tools typical of southwestern Sicily: the kind of equipment that shaped how soap was made in this region for generations.

The workshop is where you move from watching to making. You'll prepare a small bar of soap and customize it yourself, choosing from local ingredients: fresh Mediterranean herbs, Sicilian flowers, or vegetable extracts the museum produces. This isn't a demonstration. You're handling the materials and building something you take with you.

The experience runs about an hour total, with a live guide speaking English or Italian. Booking requires a minimum of 2 people. The museum is wheelchair accessible, and all areas and surfaces accommodate mobility needs. Service animals are welcome. Dress code is smart casual.
