The experience
The tour starts with pickup at Civitavecchia Port and transfer by Mercedes limo van to Rome. Once in the city, you trade the van for a golf cart and begin moving through the landmarks at a pace that lets you stop, look and photograph without the pressure of a large group or a fixed schedule racing past each site. The guide discusses the route at the start and adjusts which stops fit into the six hours, so you see what matters most to you rather than a preset list.
The golf cart takes you to Trevi Fountain first: the most famous and photographed fountain in Rome, where the tradition is to throw a coin and ensure your return. From there the route moves through Spanish Steps, an elegant square lined with 18th-century buildings and the twelve flights of stairs designed by Francesco de Sanctis in the 1720s. Piazza Navona comes next, an elliptical square built on the footprint of an ancient stadium and dominated by the Fountain of the Four Rivers. You'll also reach Piazza del Campidoglio, Michelangelo's hilltop square, and pass Teatro di Marcello, a first-century BC Roman theatre with striking ancient architecture.
The Colosseum is a photo stop with free time to walk around. Entry to the amphitheater itself is not included. Other stops may include the Church of Sant'Ignazio di Loyola, the Bocca della Verità area with its narrow alleys and restaurants, and the Aventine Hill for rooftop views of Rome. Because the tour is private, the exact sequence and which sites you visit depend on what interests you and how much time each stop takes. You return to Civitavecchia Port by the same van at the end of the six hours.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 9).
How does pickup work if I'm on a cruise ship at Civitavecchia?
The tour includes round-trip transfer by air-conditioned Mercedes van from Civitavecchia Port to Rome and back. The driver meets you at the port, takes you into the city for the golf cart portion, and returns you in time for your ship's departure.
What is the Colosseum stop like on this tour?
The Colosseum is a photo stop where you have free time to walk around the exterior and take pictures. Entry to the amphitheater itself is not included in the tour, so you see it from outside and learn about its history as the largest Roman theatre ever built, designed to hold over 50,000 people.
Can the guide change the itinerary if I want to see different sites?
Yes. Because this is a private tour, the guide discusses the itinerary with you at the start and plans the route based on what you want to see and how much time each stop takes. The list of sites is suggestive, and the tour includes as many as time permits.
What is the golf cart experience like compared to walking or a regular bus tour?
The golf cart lets you move between sites quickly without the fatigue of walking long distances in Rome's heat, and without being part of a large group. You stop at each landmark, have time to look around and photograph, and the guide adjusts the pace to fit what you want to see.
